Q When did your interest in track and field begin?
A My interest in track and field began when I saw the high school track team throwing and just having fun, and ever since I wanted to do the same thing.
Q What’s your favorite part about a track meet or season?
A My favorite part of a track meet is the atmosphere and having all my friends around me. Everyone cheering each other on and the adrenaline of wanting to win is the best part.
Q You’ve enjoyed a strong start to the season. What’s helped you get off to such a strong start?
A I put my success on the weight room and my coaches. I like to go down to the weight room and just grind. I keep on coming back to the weight room because I’m seeing results. My coach also helps me with my form and makes sure I’m doing my practice.
Q What things are you looking to improve as the season goes on to prepare yourself for regionals and beyond?
A This year, I am looking to improve my form and get faster in the ring. I also hope to just keep getting stronger every day.
Q What’s your favorite memory of competing on the Bonduel track and field team?
A My favorite memory might not be a good memory but this year I threw one of my discuses on the road during practice. I remember this event because not only did I throw it on the road, a passing car finished the job and ran it over.
Q Do you have any rituals you go through before a track and field meet or invite?
A Before all my track meets, I always take a nap on the bus. 10/10 would recommend!
Q Do you look up to any particular athletes? If so, why them?
A I don’t look up to any particular athletes, but I like to watch Olympic throwers, and they are my role models for track and field.
Q What is your favorite thing to do when you are not in school or competing in a high school sport?
A In my free time, I like to work out but I also play my fair share of Xbox. Those are the two things I can always find time for.
Q Favorite TV show, movie, musical artist?
A “Planet Earth,” “Ratatouille” and G-Eazy.
Q Name one thing about yourself that not many people know.
A Not many people know this but I am very afraid of fish and swimming in oceans. Just the thought of a fish biting me with my seeing it is something I don’t like.
Q Do you have a favorite quote or verse?
A “I heard that pictures don’t change, just the people inside of ‘em do. Whoever told you that life would be easy, I promise that person was lyin’ to you.” — lyrics from “Lost in the Moment” by NF
