Shawano gets sweep over Menasha
Freshman Erin Cerveny starred on the mound and at the plate Friday as the Shawano Community High School softball team defeated Menasha 6-1 and 13-12 in Menasha.
Cerveny earned both victories on the mound, hit a grand slam home run and totaled four hits and eight RBIs. Brianna Zook and Courtney Ainsworth contributed four hits apiece for Shawano (6-4, 5-1 Bay Conference).
Cerveny scattered six hits and struck out three as the Hawks won the opener, 6-1.
Menasha (1-8, 0-7 Bay) recovered from a 12-4 deficit to tie the second game, but Saige Henning’s walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh scored Lauren Roloff to secure the Shawano victory.

Jordan Jorgenson’s two RBIs helped carry Luxemburg-Casco past Shawano.
Chase Henning went 2 for 3 with a double to lead the Shawano bats. Nate Laude took the loss. He gave up five hits and two earned runs over six innings, striking out five and walking four.
Jarrett Seidel went the distance for L-C, giving up two earned runs on seven hits. He struck out five and walked one.
Shawano is 4-3 overall and 1 -1 in the Bay Conference. L-C is 5-3, 2-2 in the Bay.
