The North Eastern Conference recently revealed its final all-conference list, honoring the top athletes from the spring seasons.

Clintonville had multiple athletes from its softball, baseball and girls soccer teams earn all-conference honors.

Softball

The Clintonville softball team ended the season with a 4-14 mark in NEC play, with three players being recognized for their play.

Abigail King was placed on the second team after a big junior year at the plate for the Truckers.

King played in all 19 of the team’s games, finishing with a .274 batting average. She drove in six runs and tied for the team lead in steals (5).

“This award has motivated and will continue to motivate me for my senior season,” said King, who also thanked her teammates and coaches. “I’m very excited to play for another year and to get better at the game. I’m going to do my best to work as hard as I can for the possibility of a first team award. This award will not only motivate me to complete my senior season in high school but to possibly pursue my interest in playing at the collegiate level.”

The team’s other two all-conference selections, juniors Tessa Doornink and Hannah Baird, were each honorable mentions.

Doornink was one of Clintonville’s most consistent hitters, ending the year with a .396 batting average. She led the team in hits (21), RBIs (11) and triples (2). She also stole five bases.

Baird was the Truckers most used pitcher, covering 88 innings this spring. She struck out 108 batters and won three games.

At the plate, Baird made the most of her hits, driving in seven runs. She also clubbed three doubles and a home run.

Clintonville was awarded a No. 10 seed for the postseason, losing on the road to seventh-seeded Shawano in its playoff-opener.

Baseball

The Truckers baseball was able to win one game in the rugged NEC this spring.

Two players, senior Matthew Morse and junior Presley Rosenow, were recognized by the conference, landing on the honorable mention team.

Rosenow finished with a .283 batting average in conference play, driving in 10 runs along the way.

“For me to make an all-conference team it makes me feel good that I put in the work this season and that the outcome was shown,” said Rosenow. “With that honor it will motivate me to push myself even harder next season and to be a top player in the conference.”

Morse also had a .283 average and 10 RBIs. He also stole five bases and scored eight runs.

“It means a lot to make an all-conference team,” Morse said. “Not only does your coach have to nominate you for the award, but other coaches have to vote for you. It really shows that all of my scheduled practices and all of the personal time that I put in really paid off. Coming off of last season also on an all-conference team made this one just as memorable because I was able to receive the award once again.”

The Truckers earned a No. 7 seed for the postseason and hung tough before eventually falling to second-seeded Ashwaubenon in a regional quarterfinal.

Girls soccer

Clintonville’s girls soccer team finished with a 1-6-1 mark in NEC play.

Three Truckers earned spots on all-conference teams. Senior Tabitha Breitrick and juniors Kayla Klemp and Delaney Hintz were all honorable mentions.

The team earned a No. 6 seed for the playoff, but was topped by third-seeded New London in a regional semifinal.
