The Shawano Community High School boys swim team took second place in the Great Northern Conference meet Friday in Rhinelander.
Shawano had a team score of 298, bested only by Lakeland Union’s 326.
Zach Soper took firsts in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100 backstroke and was named the Great Northern Conference swimmer of the year.
Griffin Rades took first in the 200 individual medley. Rolando Colon was first in the 500 freestyle.
Shawano took first in the 200 medley relay, setting a conference record. Shawano’s 400 freestyle relay team took second.
Shawano coach Walberto Colon was named coach of the year.
Shawano went undefeated in its nine conference duals heading into the conference meet.
