Shawano wins in straight sets
Shawano defeated host New London in three sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21, Thursday.
Erica Dunnam led SCHS with 18 kills. Annelies Young added 17 assists and four digs. Brandi Gueths tallied four block kills.
Shawano hosts its invitational Saturday at 9 a.m.
Bonduel tallies first conference victory
The Bears (5-5, 1-1 Central Wisconsin Conference-8) defeated host Manawa in straight sets Thursday, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20.
Miranda Schmidt led Bonduel with 13 assists, while Hayley Pues recorded nine attack kills and four block kills. Kailee Pedersen had eight digs.
Menominee Indian falls to Gresham
Gresham (6-3, 2-0 CWC-10) defeated visiting Menominee Indian in three sets, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22, Thursday.
Sydney Jensen had nine kills, and Taylor Hoffman added 15 assists and 10 digs to lead Gresham. Mackenzie Hoffman recorded nine digs.

Shawano does not find offensive spark
Shawano (2-4, 0-1 Bay Conference) lost to Ashwaubenon 5-0 Thursday night, conceding two goals in the opening half.
Manny Morel recorded 16 saves for SCHS in nearly 70 minutes of play. Tyrell Hesse added four saves in the final 20 minutes.
The Jaguars found the back of the net three times within 12 minutes in the second half to take control of the game.
Gresham/Bowler scores late for victory
Drew Haffner scored the lone goal of a 1-0 victory in the 82nd minute as the Panthers (3-3) defeated Amherst in Amherst.
Todd Otradovec recorded the assist for Gresham/Bowler. Neal Cerveny had 12 saves manning the goal for the Panthers.

Shawano places 3rd at home meet
The Hawks, led by Julia Beck’s second-place score of 47 and Sydney Schreiber’s 50, placed third at Thursday’s Bay NEC North Divisional Meet at Shawano Lakes Golf Course.
Shawano’s team score of 203 was seven shots behind the winner, Marinette.
Brianna Zook added a 52 and Gabby Krueger shot a 54 to round out the scoring for the Hawks.
Bonduel placed sixth at the meet with a team score of 238. The Bears were paced by Morgan Cornette’s 56 and Danielle Lautenbach’s 57. Jessie LaBerge added a 60 and Allisson Tilleson shot a 65.
Kayla Thielen, of Marinette, won individual honors with a 9-over par 45.
