Gresham 3

The Wildcats ended a Green Bay rally to maintain their lead and win the WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal at home Wednesday.

Gresham (13-6, 12-6 Central Wisconsin Conference-10) capitalized on four Lutheran errors and held a 3-0 lead after four innings. The Wildcats scored a run in the first, second and fourth innings.

Winning pitcher Derek Bowman had six strikeouts in the complete-game win and pitched five scoreless innings to start the game. His shutout bid was snapped with a two-run sixth inning from No. 5-seeded Green Bay.

Bowman pitched a scoreless seventh to secure the win for No. 1 Gresham. He allowed five hits and a walk.

Drew Haffner and Neal Cerveny had two hits each for the Wildcats, who finished with five hits.

Gresham will host No. 2 seed Wausaukee at 4:30 p.m. Friday for the regional championship.

Assumption 6

Tigerton 2

The Tigers held an early 2-0 lead but Assumption scored six unanswered for the WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal win Wednesday.

Connor Harris took the loss for Tigerton (6-14, 5-13 Central Wisconsin Conference-10), allowing eight hits and striking out three. He also had two hits, while Patrick Bailey, Robert Graham and Alan Parrott had one hit each.

Tony Kuentjes earned the win for Assumption (7-11, 3-4 Marawood South).
