WEEK AHEAD
FOOTBALL
WHAT: Bonduel at Stevens Point Pacelli
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
WHERE: Pacelli High School
WHY IT MATTERS: Bonduel (5-2, 3-2 Central Wisconsin Conference-8) is looking to stay in the playoff hunt Friday at Stevens Point Pacelli (1-6, 0-5 CWC-8). Bonduel needs one more conference win to become eligible for playoff consideration, and it needs to win the last two games of the season to clinch a playoff spot. The Bears would be well-advised to gain a game this week. Manawa (5-2, 3-2 CWC-8) and Iola-Scandinavia (5-2, 3-2 CWC-8) play each other this week. Win or lose, Manawa, Bonduel’s opponent in the final week of the season, will be either looking to remain eligible or to clinch a playoff spot when it visits Bonduel.
VOLLEYBALL
WHAT: Central Wisconsin Conference-8 tournament
WHEN: 10 a.m. Saturday
WHERE: Bonduel High School
WHY IT MATTERS: Bonduel (15-8, 5-2 CWC-8) earned the right to host half the CWC-8 volleyball tournament with a second-place finish during the regular season. First-place Weyauwega-Fremont (15-6, 7-0) will host the other half the same day. Competing in Bonduel’s half of pool play will be Amherst (0-5), Shiocton (1-4) and Wittenberg-Birnamwood (5-2). The top teams in pool play will meet on Tuesday. The team with the best record will host the championship.
