The Bonduel High School track and field teams each took advantage of their final opportunities to compete before regionals by taking first at the Bonduel Last Chance Meet on Thursday.
The Bonduel girls scored 155 points, edging Manawa by a point. The Bonduel boys scored 134 points and also edged Manawa by a point.
Madison Kurey won the triple jump with a leap of 31 feet, 3 inches, while Jessie LaBerge was the top finisher in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.51 seconds.
Also placing first for the girls was Kylie Quandt in the 100 hurdles (18.75), Brenna Hertzfeldt in the shot put (32-7) and Jessica Ewing in the high jump (4-8).
The girls 4x400 relay team of Kurey, LaBerge, Breanna Schnell and Kara Troxel also placed first in 4:24.51.
Isaac Garside and Isaac Banker each earned a first-place finish for the Bonduel boys, winning the shot put (44-1.75) and triple jump (37-1.5), respectively
Banker and Garside were also on the first-place finishing 4x200 relay (1:35.25) and 4x400 relay (3:37.73) teams. Jared Wondra and Dylan Springborn rounded out the 4x200, while Wondra and Carter Kurey were part of the 4x400 team.
The boys 4x800 team of Wondra, Kurey, Colin Ewing and William Beaumier was first in 9:02.04.
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood girls placed fourth, while the boys came in fifth.
Cole Schairer won the 800 (2:12.12) and 1,600 (4:54.44) to lead the boys team. Chloe King and Emma Herb each earned first-place finishes to pace the Witt-Birn girls. King had the top time in the 400 (1:03.94), while Herb had the top throw in the discus (114-2).
Monika Minniecheske claimed second in the triple jump (30-11.5) for the Tigerton girls, who finished fifth. The Tigerton boys took ninth.
Dan Schmidt came in fourth in the discus (115-7) for the Wolf River Lutheran boys, which placed seventh. The WRL girls came in sixth behind Elizabeth Schmidt’s fourth-place finish in the 300 hurdles (56.81).
Tehya Pyawasay came in second in the 400 (1:11.79) for the Menominee Indian girls, who came in seventh. Tego Warrington was the only Menominee Indian boy competing; he placed fourth in the triple jump (34-8).
Marion also competed at the meet, with the boys placing sixth and the girls coming in eighth. Justin Wuske had the boys’ top individual finish, taking fourth in the 1,600 (5:25.85). Elizabeth Radtke claimed fifth in the 100 (14.3), while Andi Elandt was fifth in the discus (85-1) for the girls.

Shawano, Menominee Indian throwers compete
Throwers from Shawano and Menominee Indian competed in the Heinz Throwers Invite at Shawano Community Middle School on Thursday.
Menominee Indian’s Darius Wayka and Guadalupe Cruz each took first in the shot put with throws of 50-5 and 35-9, respectively.
Shawano’s Morgan Weinig came in fourth in the discus (96-9.75) and third in the shot put (32-9).
Shawano’s Nathan Krizan was fourth in the shot put (44-0), while Menominee Indian’s Pasen Waupoose took fourth in the shot put (123-11.75).
