BASEBALL

Bonduel 11

Witt-Birn 1 (5 inn.)

The Bears took advantage of 11 walks to down the Chargers in Central Wisconsin Conference-East Division play on Monday.

Noah Beilfuss and Aaron Margelofsky each had two hits for Bonduel, with Margelofsky also driving in three runs.

Isaac Boldt earned the win after allowing a run and striking out four batters over 3 1/3 innings. Beilfuss also pitched for the Bears.

Jacob Groshek finished with two hits for Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Simon Stewart took the loss after working 3 1/3 innings.

Tigerton 28

Gresham 8 (6 inn.)

The Tigers walked 16 times and used a 15-run sixth inning to ease past the Wildcats in CWC-North action Monday.

Dawson Block had three hits and drove in five runs for Tigerton, while Austin Hoffmann homered among his three hits, drove in four runs and scored four runs. Zeke Griepentrog and Christian Armour also had three RBIs each.

Hoffmann earned the win after working two innings and allowing two runs. Landon Prey and Griepentrog also worked two innings each.

Luke Pecore had two of Gresham’s five hits. The Wildcats drew 12 walks. Five different players pitched for the Wildcats.

Bowler 10

Marion 6

A seven-run fifth inning helped the Panthers past the Mustangs in CWC-North play Monday.

Lane Schultz drove in four runs on two hits, while Ezra Spencer reached base three times and drove in two runs. Schultz also picked up the win on the mound, working 4 2/3 innings.

Charles Schwietzer had two hits and three RBIs for Marion. Carter Goke scored twice but also took the loss on the mound.

SOFTBALL

Witt-Birn 3

Bonduel 1

The Chargers knocked off the Bears in CWC-East action on Monday.

McKenna Metropulos, Olivia Zoromski and Abi Fraaza each scored a run for Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Fraaza finished with two hits.

Destiny Bagley earned the win in the circle, stranding 11 Bonduel baserunners.

McKenzie Wollenberg and Julia Lorbiecki each had two hits for the Bears. Two errors cost Bonduel and Claire Gehm, who took the loss.

Tigerton 18

Gresham 13

The Tigers scored 14 runs across the fifth and sixth innings to rally past the Wildcats in a CWC-North tilt Monday.

Bethany Jobe singled, doubled and tripled for Tigerton, while Jaidan Miller had a triple and single. Adrienne Brady earned the win in the circle.

Valarie Cerveny was handed the loss in the circle for Gresham, which led 10-4 heading into the fifth. Destiny Reindl tripled and had three RBIs, while Cerveny tallied three hits and four RBIs.

Bowler sweeps Marion in doubleheader

The Panthers combined to scored 30 runs to take down the Mustangs in a CWC-north doubleheader Monday. Bowler took game one 11-8 and game two by a 19-8 final.

Tynea Johnson had two hits and three RBIs to lead Bowler in game one. Jodi Wolf hit two home runs. Jada Waters earned the win in the circle, striking out six while allowing five earned runs.

Johnson had three hits in game two, while Waters drove in three runs, scored three runs and earned the win. Wolf, Alyssa Strassburg, Brook Thiex, Lilly Wisnefske, Morgan Paiser and McKayla Putnam each had two RBIs.

Tessa Brei had two hits for Marion in game one, while Kendra Barrow took the loss in the circle. Brei and Barrow each scored twice in game two, with Barrow again taking the loss int he circle.

TRACK AND FIELD

Stone leads W-B in Edgar

Behind a first-place finish in the 1,600-meter run by Jenna Stone, the Wittenberg-Birnamwood girls team placed fifth at the Edgar Drift-Buster Invite on Monday. The Witt-Birn boys came in sixth.

Stone posted a time of 5 minutes, 56.31 seconds to win the 1-mile — Stone came in second in the 800 (2:43.51). Chloe King placed second in the 200 (28.14) and 400 (1:04.68).

The boys 4x400 relay team of Luke Muscha, Simon Schairer, Jayden Landowski and Cole Schairer took second in 4:01.52.

Girls team scores: 1. Edgar 145; 2. Mosinee 139.5; 3; Wausau West 138.5; 4. Athens 59; 5. Wittenberg-Birnamwood 57; 6. Stratford 36; 7. Assumption 14; 8. Abbotsford 13.
