Bonduel’s late comeback came up just short in a 26-20 loss to Colby in a Division 5 Level One playoff game in Colby Friday night.

Third-seeded Colby got on the scoreboard first with a passing score in the second quarter. Bonduel cut its deficit down to one on an Isaac Boldt rushing touchdown early in the third quarter before taking the lead on a Jacob Giese rushing score in the fourth quarter.

Trailing by five, the hosts scored 19 straight points to take a 26-12 lead with only 3 minutes, 49 seconds remaining. Bonduel quarterback Parker Bohm hit Isaac Garside on a touchdown pass with seven seconds left but the Bears could not score again.

Boldt rushed for a team-leading 81 yards while Riddik Bohm and Giese recorded 48 and 25 rushing yards, respectively. Parker Bohm finished with 181 passing yards, with Garside recording 136 of those receiving yards.

Bonduel finishes the season with a 6-4 overall record after finishing third in the Central Wisconsin Conference-Large Division with a 5-2 mark.

Colby will next travel to take on second-seeded Stratford, a 41-0 winner over seventh-seeded Northland Pines.
