Here is a look at some of the top performances in the area over the past week:
Brayden Dickelman — Shawano football
The junior scored five touchdowns to help Shawano to its first win of the season on Friday against Green Bay West. Dickelman rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns while also returning a pair of punts for scores.
Madi Hanson — Shawano/Bonduel swim
The senior swimmer placed first in a pair of events to help the Shawano/Bonduel co-op earn a dual win over Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Tuesday. Hanson won the 100-yard breaststroke (1 minute, 23.2 seconds) and 50 freestyle (29.88). She was also on the second-place 200 medley relay team and 200 freestyle relay team.
Ashton Cox — Menominee Indian cross-country
The sophomore runner has served as the top runner for the Menominee Indian boys this fall. Cox took 25th as an individual during last Thursday’s Don Chase Relays in Weyauwega. He crossed the finish line in sixth at the Marion Mustang Invitational back on Oct. 1.
Tiana Ferguson — Gresham volleyball
The senior has excelled down the stretch and helped Gresham earn a No. 2 seed in the playoffs. Ferguson finished with 10 service points in a loss to Stockbridge on Tuesday. She helped the Wildcats take fourth at the CWC-North Tournament, tallying five kills against Northland Lutheran and 10 and nine digs, respectively, against Manawa and Tigerton.
Ireland DeRoos — Bowler volleyball
The junior is playing her best volleyball of the season at just the right time. DeRoos totaled 13 digs, six attack kills and four block kills in a loss to Rosholt on Tuesday. At the conference tournament Saturday, she tallied six attack kills against Tigerton, contributed three block kills against Wisconsin Valley Lutheran and had five digs in a matchup with Northland Lutheran.
