The Shawano Legion baseball team used a balanced attack at the plate and strong pitching outing from Joey Tadych to ease past New London on the road in five innings.

The Patriots scored six runs in the second inning, a single run in the third, two in the fourth and four more in the fifth to take down the Clippers.

Tadych and Casey Baumann each provided three hits for Shawano while Tadych and Marcus Welander each drove in two runs. Parker Pues, Jacob Lacy, Mason Dingeldein and Tadych each scored two runs.

Tadych worked the first four innings to earn the win, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out three batters. Isaac Buntrock pitched the final inning, working around a hit and a walk to post a scoreless frame.

Shawano is 8-3 in its last 11 contests.

Clintonville 9

Marion/Tigerton 2

Clintonville claimed its second win in three days over Marion/Tigerton, using a big fifth inning to seal its win.

Colton Kluth gave the Diamond Cats an early lead with a RBI double in the first inning. Marion/Tigerton tied the game in the second after a batter was hit by a pitch with the bases-loaded.

Clintonville retook the lead in the third after Kyle Finger doubled to open the inning and later scored on a Presley Rosenow double. Neither team scored another run until the fifth, when Clintonville scored seven runs.

Matthew Morse drove in a run for the Diamond Cats on a groundout before two-RBI singles from Jacob Viergutz and Finger. Clintonville scored another run on an error and RBI single by Keenan Doornink.

Marion/Tigerton added another run in the sixth, but could get no closer. Nick Schoen earned the win after allowing just one run over five innings. He struck out five batters while surrendering just four hits. Doornink pitched the final two innings and did not allow a hit.

Wittenberg 4

Amherst/Rosholt 2

Wittenberg doubled up Amherst/Rosholt for its sixth win in a row.

Wittenberg now owns a 9-1 record on the summer.
