Gresham/Bowler boys, girls take fourth

Bestul, Kietlinski lead co-op at meet

The Gresham/Bowler boys and girls track teams each earned fourth-place finishes at the Wild Rose Meet on Tuesday.

The boys team earned 49 team points and was led by Noah Bestul’s first-place finish in the 3,200-meter run. Levi Schick took second in the high jump and third in the 1,600. Bryce Seidler came in third in the discus while Bryce Bohl took third in the 200. The co-op’s 4x100 relay team of Bohl, David Hahn, Ramsey Price and Dakotah Taylor also claimed third-place.

The Gresham/Bowler girls team earned 51 points on the night, with Reanne Kietlinski pacing the team with a first-place finish in the long jump. Jayden Jensen finished second in discus while Kietlinski took third in the long jump. The 4x100 relay team of Makayla Belongia, Jensen, Karisa Nietzer and Tynea Johnson and the 4x200 relay team of Jada James, Ireland DeRoos, Alyssa Strassburg and Tiana Ferguson each took third.

The Tigerton girls team finished fifth with 49 points, led by Bethany Kreklow’s first-place finish in the 3,200. Monika Minniecheske (200) and Kreklow (1,600) each took second place while Ladia Block (800) and Minniecheske (long jump) placed third in their respective events.

Nathaen Wanta led the Tigerton boys team with a fifth-place finish in the 300 hurdles.

Boys team standings: 1. Wild Rose 233; 2. Manawa 105; 3. Iola-Scandinavia 82; 4. Gresham/Bowler 49; 5. Tigerton 3.

Girls team standings: 1. Wild Rose 165; 2. Iola-Scandinavia 97; 3. Manawa 67; 4. Gresham/Bowler 51; 5. Tigerton 49; 6. Almond-Bancroft 4.
