Shawano boys, Bonduel girls take third at invite

Pues leads Shawano; Sell paces Bonduel

The Shawano boys and Bonduel girls each took third place at the Shawano invite on Tuesday, scoring 125 and 114.5 points, respectively.

Parker Pues took first in the 100-meter dash and long jump while helping the Hawks’ 4x200 relay team to first-place finishes. Payden Buck claimed the top spot in the pole vault, Nathan Krizan took first in the shot put while Atty Wagner won the high jump. Buck and Wagner joined Pues and Crede Timm on the relay team, which broke the school record with a time of 1:33.12.

Bonduel finished third on the girls’ side, with Christine Sell’s first-place finish in discus leading the way. The Bears’ 4x400 relay team of Madison Kurey, Allyssa Moser, Ashlyn Schnell and Breanna Schnell also took first. Peyton Hrabik finished second in the long jump and 200 while Kara Troxel placed second in the 1,600. Bonduel’s 4x200 and 4x800 relay teams also finished second.

The Bonduel boys and Shawano girls teams each came in fourth place at the invite.

Canaan Szoszorek (discus), Lucas Nolan (300 hurdles), Colin Ewing (3,200) and the Bonduel 4x400 relay team all placed first. Nolan (110 hurdles) and Szoszorek (shot put) also earned second-place finishes.

Christa Cummings led the Shawano girls with a first-place finish in the 200 while Carrie Young (100 dash and 300 hurdles), Lydia Beyer (400), Claire Guenther (3,200) and the 4x100 relay team all finished second.

The Menominee Indian boys placed seventh while the girls came in eighth. Jarin Reiter earned a second-place finish in the 400 while Guadalupe Cruz finished second in the shot put.

Boys team standings: 1. Seymour 142; 2. Lakeland 131.5; 3. Shawano 125; 4. Bonduel 113; 5. Antigo 91; 6. Crandon 52; 7. Menominee Indian 17.5; 8. Coleman 14.

Girls team standings: 1. Seymour 139.5; 2. Lakeland 119.5; 3. Bonduel 114.5; 4. Shawano 107.5; 5. Antigo 76; 6. Coleman 53; 7. Crandon 39; 8. Menominee Indian 23.
