GIRLS SOCCER

Shawano 7

Green Bay West 0

The Shawano girls soccer team made things look easy in a convincing 7-0 win over Green Bay West in a Bay Conference match Tuesday.

Lindsey Roloff and Isabella Burr each netted two goals to lead Shawano, while Sydney Steinbech, Niki Hoefs and Trinity Caldwell each scored one goal.

Morgan Meyers, Alexis Trinko, Lydia Colón and Roloff were each credited with an assist.

BASEBALL

Tigerton 3

Marion 0

A dominant start from Austin Hoffman helped the Tigerton baseball team blank Marion in a Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division battle Tuesday.

Hoffman struck out eight batters and allowed just three hits to pick up the win. Hoffman, Conner Harris, Izaiah Hidde and Braxton Michaelis each singled to lead Tigerton at the plate.

Marion’s Conner Thoma was dealt the loss on the mound.

Gresham 10

Manawa 1

A six-run fifth inning helped the Gresham baseball team cruise past Manawa in a CWC-North Division matchup Monday.

Manawa’s big inning was powered by hits from Todd Otradovec, Jake Hoffman and Drew Haffner. Nathanial Juga tallied two hits in the game, while the team stole eight bases.

Haffner also earned the win on the mound, allowing just four hits and no runs over five innings while striking out 12 batters. Justice Paiser pitched the final two innings to seal the victory.

Shawano 8

Menasha 4

The Shawano softball team topped Menasha twice in a Bay Conference doubleheader Tuesday.

Taylor Johnson provided the heroics for the Hawks in the first game, delivering a two-run walk-off single. Johnson finished with three hits, while Kendra Kristof and Bayleigh Laabs each had two hits. Emilee Bastar and Johnson both pitched for the Hawks.

In a darkness-shortened game two, Brandi Gueths provided a three-run double to give Shawano a comfortable lead in the fourth inning. Jewel Waupekenay also had a big hit in the inning, while Laabs had two more hits. Bastar picked up the win before Gracyn Habeck came in and sealed the victory.

Rosholt 11

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 10

Wittenberg-Birnamwood came up just short in a CWC crossover clash against Rosholt on Tuesday.

Vicki Dombeck led Wittenberg-Birnamwood with three hits, while Olivia Zoromski and Abi Fraaza each had two hits.

Alexis Schaupp took the loss in the circle, allowing three runs across 1⅔ innings. Destiny Bagley pitched the first 5⅓ innings, surrendering eight runs.

BOYS TENNIS

Wausau East 6

Shawano 1

The Shawano boys tennis team fell in a nonconference matchup with Wausau East on Tuesday.

Freshman Kamden Kroll earned the lone Shawano victory, taking down Arnau Sazema 6-0, 6-0 in No. 4 singles.

TRACK

Belongia gets 1st at Tri-County meet

Gresham/Bowler’s Makayla Belongia turned in a first-place finish Tuesday in the long jump and fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash while also helping the 4x100 relay team to a third-place finish.

Tigerton’s Bethany Krelow finished second in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, while Monika Minniecheske placed third in the long jump, fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the 100 and 200.

On the boy’s side, Gresham/Bowler’s Tom Seidler finished third in discus and fifth in the 800. Levi Schick took fifth in the 1,600, while the 4x100 relay team of David Hahn, Zachary Young, Dakotah Taylor and Bryce Bohl placed third.

BOYS GOLF

Witt-Birn third at Menominee Indian invite

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood boys golf team led a trio of local teams at Thornberry Creek in the Menominee Indian Invitationalon Tuesday, placing third with a team score of 403.

Ian Resch led the Chargers with a round of 93, while Justin Keeney and Logan Balliet each shot a 98. Maverick Beran (114) and Porter Richardson (140) rounded out the team.

Bonduel came in fourth with a team score of 404. Austin Acker shot a 83 to lead the team; Aaron Schaal fired a 99. Jack Jiskra (108), Kody Jashinsky (114) and Brooks Dehn (125) helped round out the Bears’ team score.

The Gresham/Menominee Indian co-op placed eighth with a score of 522. Josh Hoffman led the co-op with a round of 97, while Shawn Fish fired a 123. Johnny Kerry and Wade Wapkenay each shot rounds of 151, while Joseph Komanekin scored a round of 156.
