Shawano falls to New London
The Shawano Community High School baseball team lost 6-3 to Bay Conference foe New London on Thursday in Shawano.
Grant Wainio and Alex Frechette led Shawano with two hits each. Clint Dallas took the loss, giving up six runs on seven hits in four innings. He also struck out three and walked two.
Lane Hanadel earned the win for New London. He pitched six innings, allowed three runs on eight hits, struck out two and walked one. Tyler Jagiello and Michael Kerscher had three hits apiece.
Hawks beaten by Denmark
The Shawano Community High School softball team lost to Denmark 7-2 in a Bay Conference game Thursday in Shawano.
LaRissa O’Kimosh hit a two-run single in the first inning, but the Hawks (5-8, 4-5 Bay) went scoreless from there.
Rachel Lemke earned the win for Denmark (6-10, 2-9). Brooke Giltner had three hits.
Hawks shut out Truckers
The Shawano Community High School girls soccer team beat Clintonville 7-0 Thursday in Clintonville.
Sarah Dickmann and Megan Klitzke each had a pair of goals. Lindsey McFarlane, Teagan Monfils and Louisa Keenan added goals. Morgan Klitzke had four assists. McFarlane and Rachel Schnell each added an assist.
Tessa Komp had one save tending goal for Shawano (4-4, 1-1 Bay).
Clintonville boys beat Freedom
Turner Doornink held Freedom to just three hits as the Clintonville High School baseball team won 3-2 Thursday in Freedom.
Doornink struck out 13 batters for the Truckers (5-6, 4-6 Eastern Valley). Parker Mindel had three hits, and Nick Hogen added two.
Mike VanGroll took the loss for Freedom (10-3, 9-3 Eastern Valley).
Tigerton boys beat Mustangs
The Tigerton High School baseball team beat Marion 10-1 in a Central Wisconsin Conference-10 game Thursday in Tigerton.
Woodrow Nelson earned the win, pitching seven innings. He allowed one run and four hits in seven innings, walked three and struck out 12. He led Tigerton at the plate with two hits.
Justin Miller took the loss for Marion. He allowed 10 runs on nine hits in 5 1-3 innings on the mound. He walked 10 and struck out nine. Aaron Hoffman had two hits.
Almond-Bancroft no-hits Eagles
The Menominee Indian High School softball team lost 2-0 to Almond-Bancroft on Thursday in Keshena.
Kayla Smith threw a no-hitter for Almond-Bancroft, striking out 16 batters.
Taylor Mahkimetas held Almond-Bancroft (11-0, 9-0 CWC-10) to two runs on four hits for Menominee Indian (3-4, 3-4 CWC-10). She struck out 15 and walked five.
Bowler girls get first win
The Bowler High School softball team earned its first win of the season, 10-6 over Tri-County in a Central Wisconsin Conference-10 game Thursday in Bowler.
Kristina Koenig earned the win. She also had three hits to lead the Panthers (1-9, 1-9 CWC-10). Ashlynn Brisk added a triple.
