The Shawano boys swim team had three individual swimmers and two relay teams take the podium at the WIAA Division 2 sectional tournament at Hudson on Saturday.
Connor Angeli earned his spot on the podium with a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 25.19 seconds. Angeli also placed 12th in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.53).
Karson Rades placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.03 for his spot at the podium.
Chase Lhotka earned his spot after an eighth-place finish in the 50 freestyle in 23.69.
In relay action, the 200 free team placed fifth (1:35.73), comprised of Lhotka, Collin Buerman, James Krueger and Jeffrey Green.
The 400 free team took seventh (3:39.21) with Lhotka, Krueger, Green and Peter Fuller.
Other top-10 individual swimmers for the Hawks were Green, who took ninth in the 50 free (23.71), Fuller, who placed seventh in the 500 freestyle (5:28.64) and Krueger, who placed 10th in the 100 butterfly (1:00.63).
The 200 medley relay team placed ninth (1:52.41) with Krueger, Rades, Lhotka and Buerman.
Shawano finished ninth as a team out of 11. No Hawks qualified for the state meet.
