The Menominee Casino Resort, N277 Highway 47-55, Keshena, is hosting the national mixed martial arts event, King of the Cage, on Saturday, including returning and up-and-coming MMA fighters.
This year’s theme is dubbed “Stone Cold” and includes mainly Wisconsin participants. It will be headlined by a Catchweight showdown between two of Wisconsin’s toughest MMA veterans, Isaiah Pitts, of Wausau, and Jay Ellis, of Milwaukee.
The co-main event will feature Oconto Falls’ Chad Johnson making his professional debut against T.J. Millsap.
A featured event includes Morgan Sickinger, of Manitowoc, against Frank Young.
Oconto Falls’ Christian Herbeck (3-1), of Oconto Falls, will also be featured, though his opponent is not yet determined. Herbeck is top-ranked and his victories have all been in the first-round.
Also competing are Dave Yang, of Whiting, against David Kauzlaric, of Appleton; Steve Rodriguez, of Sheboygan, against Appleton’s Alex Bower; and Jaxon Brown, of Appleton, against Nick Longoria.
Women’s challenges include Courtney Labuy, of Oshkosh, against Amanda LaBo; Taylor Lamonka, of Fond Du Lac, against Micaela Rampage; and Charity Labuy, of Oshkosh, whose opponent is unknown.
Also on the card, Oscar Arroyo, of Fond Du Lac will take on Gio Hernandez, of Milwaukee; Conor Fussner, of Sheboygan will challenge Dustin Spencer; and Nick Marti, of Milwaukee will challenge Nick Klein, of Sheboygan.
King of the Cage is a top promoter of MMA and has performed over 500 events since its inception in 1998. It promotes shows globally, including the United States and countries like England, Canada and Japan.
