Oconto Falls 3
Clintonville 0
Coming off the first match all season in which Clintonville won two sets, coach Lindsay Davis was hoping for a fast start against Oconto Falls on Thursday.
However, the Truckers never led the entire match, falling in three sets (25-13, 25-11, 25-15) in North Eastern Conference action.
“It was tough, the girls came out really slow tonight,” Davis said. “They had a great warmup and seeing them warm up, I really thought they were ready tonight. They got there and they were slow and they had a really hard time getting out of that.”
Emma Weatherwax led the Truckers with 10 digs. Chelsey Birling had eight assists. Melany Lorge, Allysin Booth and Weatherwax had three kills apiece.
Amherst 3
Bonduel 0
Bonduel lost a Central Wisconsin Conference-East match to undefeated Amherst, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18, Thursday.
Grace Petcka recorded 20 kills and two blocks for Bonduel. Brynn Reinke had 66 assists, and McKenzie Wollenberg tallied 15 digs.
“McKenzie (Wollenberg) played especially well tonight,” Bonduel head coach Kim Strayer said. “She was all over the court and she was making plays between serving, attacking and blocking.”
Bonduel (5-11, 0-2 CWC) lost to Wittenberg-Birnamwood (4-14, 2-0 CWC) two days before facing Amherst (4-0, 1-0 CWC).
“We’re playing tough teams. Amherst is a top team, and we knew we were going to have to fight in this one just like we did earlier this week,” Strayer said.
