Bonduel knocks off Iola-Scandinavia
The Bonduel High School softball team handed Iola-Scandinavia its first Central Wisconsin Conference-8 loss Tuesday in Iola, earning an 8-3 victory.
Connor Rosin was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI to lead the Bears (2-1, 2-0 CWC-8). Jake Luepke earned the win, pitching seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out six.
Connor Lodewegon took the loss. He pitched 4 2-3 innings and allowed eight runs on five hits, walked eight and struck out five. Connor Gruenewald had a two-run home run for Iola-Scandinavia (4-1, 4-1 CWC-8).
Bears lose to Iola-Scandinavia
The Bonduel High School softball team lost 6-2 Tuesday to Central Wisconsin Conference-8 foe Iola-Scandinavia in Iola.
Jennifer Dowden took the loss, pitching six innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, striking out seven and walking five. Miranda Schmidt led the Bears (1-1, 1-1 CWC-8) with three hits.
Brianne Hetuner earned the win for Iola-Scandinavia (2-4, 1-2 CWC-8). She struck out three, walked four and allowed three hits. Jane Oligney was 3 for 3.
Eagles dominate Bowler girls, 14-1
The Menominee Indian High School softball team beat Bowler 14-1 in five innings Tuesday in Keshena.
Taylor Mahkimetas earned the win for Menominee Indian (1-1, 1-1 Central Wisconsin Conference-10). She pitched five innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out eight and walking six. Felicia Beaulieu, Shaunte Sackatook and Monae Waukau drove in two runs each. Joan Waukau was 2 for 3.
Kristina Koenig took the loss for Bowler (0-2, 0-2 CWC-10). She pitched four innings, allowed six hits, walked 13 and struck out seven. Morgan Olson was 2 for 2 and drove in Bowler’s lone run.
Bonduel third at Golden Sands
The Bonduel High School boys golf team took third at a home triangular Tuesday at Golden Sands Golf Course in Cecil.
Bonduel shot a 205. Iola-Scandinavia shot a 201 to win, followed by Weyauwega-Fremont’s 204.
“We hung in there pretty well, but fell a little short in the end,” Bonduel coach Dan Anderson said. “The wind was really howling out there and caused some pretty high scores. Hole 10, a par 4, averaged eight for the varsity golfers and only yielded 2two pars out of 15 players.”
Ben Shoup led Bonduel with a 43. Zach Acker hit 47. David Parrott came in at 56, followed by Mitch LaBerge at 59 and Matt LaBerge at 64.
Hawks girls drop doubleheader
The Shawano Community High School softball team lost a pair of nonconference games to Ashwaubenon on Monday.
Ashwaubenon (6-0, 2-0 Fox River Classic Conference) won the first game 7-3 and the second 11-3.
Madison Manders struck out eight in the first game and had a two-run homer in the second.
Shawano was led by Brianna Laabs and LaRissa O’Kimosh, who each had a pair of hits. Laabs had a home run.
Shawano golfers win triangular
The Shawano Community High School golf team won a triangular meet Monday against Luxemburg-Casco and Denmark at Northbrook Country Club in Luxemburg.
Shawano had a team score of 183, followed by Luxemburg-Casco’s 188 and Denmark’s 199.
Braden Mueller shot a 39 to lead Shawano, tied with L-C’s Michael Spangler for the best score of the meet. Ian Lewis shot a 42, Garrett Schlise carded a 50 and Ryan Hoffman shot 52.
Chargers second at Pine Hills
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School golf team finished second in a meet Tuesday at Pine Hills Golf Course in Gresham.
The Chargers scored 187, second only to Stevens Point Pacelli’s 183. Gresham (191) took third and Menominee Indian (218) fourth.
Witt-Birn was led by Taylor Bushman’s 46. Gresham’s Killian Eggert was the meet medalist with a score of 41.
Truckers run over by Waupaca
The Clintonville High School baseball team lost 20-6 to Waupaca in a Eastern Valley Conference game Tuesday at Olen Park in Clintonville.
Parker Mindel took the loss for Clintonville (2-3, 1-3 Eastern Valley).
Zander Neuvillle earned the win for Waupaca (3-2, 3-2 Eastern Valley).
Clintonville lost to Waupaca 8-0 on Monday.
