Six local high school girls golfers, including five from Bonduel, received academic all-state honors this fall for successful seasons on the course and in the classroom.
The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin honored Bonduel’s Morgan Cornette, Mariah Diemel, Kylie Guenther, Jessie LaBerge and Allissa Tilleson, as well as Shawano’s Brinley Kowalkowski.
The GCAW honors athletes who are in at least their sophomore seasons, earn a 3.25 grade-point average or higher and compete in at least 75 percent of the team’s varsity matches.
In total, 325 athletes from 96 high schools were honored.
Team awards for highest cumulative GPA will be announced in February.
