The Shawano Community High School boys basketball team will be familiar with its first-round foe in the WIAA Divison 2 regional.
The Hawks will open tourney play Tuesday by hosting Bay Conference rival New London.
Shawano (9-12, 7-6 Bay Conference) earned the seventh seed. New London (6-15, 5-8 Bay) is the No. 10 seed.
Shawano lost at home to the Bulldogs, 64-60, on Jan. 21. It gets a shot at redemption in the final game of the regular season Thursday in New London.
With a win Tuesday, the Hawks would travel to No. 2 Wausau East (14-7, 6-5 Wisconsin Valley Conference) on March 4.
Bonduel (9-12, 5-8 Central Wisconsin Conference-8) also is a seventh seed. The Bears will host No. 10 Clintonville (5-16, 4-13 North Eastern Conference) Tuesday.
In the same Division 3 regional, Wittenberg-Birnamwood (8-12, 4-8 CWC-8) secured the sixth seed and will host No. 11 Oconto Falls (3-18, 2-15 NEC).
Gresham (18-3, 14-3 Central Wisconsin Conference-10), secured the second seed in its Division 5 regional and will face No. 15 Gillett (1-20, 1-16 Marinette & Oconto Conference) Tuesday. With a victory, the Wildcats would face the winner of No. 7 Niagara and No. 10 Florence.
In Division 4, Menominee Indian (10-11, 8-9 CWC-10) was given the 11th seed, which means it will travel to No. 6 Wabeno/Laona (18-2, 13-0 Northern Lakes) for the right to face No. 3 Oconto (17-4, 10-3 Packerland).
Also in Division 5, Marion (3-18, 2-15 CWC-10) earned the 12th seed and will travel to No. 5 Loyal (17-4, 13-3 Cloverbelt-East Conference) Tuesday.
No. 14 Bowler (2-19, 2-15 CWC-10) will play third-seeded Almond-Bancroft (19-2, 15-2 CWC-10) in the opening round. Tigerton (3-18, 2-15 CWC-10) was given the 16th seed and will face top-seeded Port Edwards (20-1, 16-1 CWC-10).
All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
