Currently sitting in fifth place of the Bay Conference, the Shawano Community High School girls basketball team earned the sixth seed in its WIAA Division 2 regional.
The Hawks (11-9, 5-7 Bay) will host 11th seeded Wausau East in a regional quarterfinal Tuesday. If the Hawks win, they would travel to face No. 3 Mosinee on Feb. 26.
In a Division 3 regional, Bonduel (12-9, 7-6 Central Wisconsin Conference-8) also secured a sixth seed and will face Tomahawk at home Tuesday. If the Bears win, they would have to travel to Xavier for the regional semifinal Feb. 26.
In Division 4, Menominee Indian secured a seventh seed. The Eagles (16-4, 13-3 Central Wisconsin Conference-10) will host Oconto in a regional quarterfinal Tuesday. With a victory, Menominee Indian would travel to No. 2 Auburndale on Feb. 26.
In Division 5, the Gresham Wildcats (6-13,3-13 CWC-10), took the No. 11 seed and will travel to No. 6 Gillett on Tuesday.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood (20-1, 12-1 CWC-8), was given the second seed in the regional and a first-round bye. The Chargers will host the winner of Tuesday’s game between No. 7 Clintonville (10-10, 8-8 North Eastern Conference) and No. 10 Oconto Falls. Clintonville defeated Oconto Falls twice during the regular season.
Central Wisconsin Conference-10 foes Bowler (17-3, 14-2 CWC-10) and Tigerton (4-16, 3-13 CWC-10) will play each other in the first round Tuesday, with Bowler hosting as the No. 4 seed. Tigerton has the 13th seed.
In the same regional, Marion (7-13, 6-10 CWC-10) earned the 10th seed and will travel to Wild Rose on Tuesday.
All games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
